What Goes On in Auto Shows and Car Rallies
As a car enthusiast, you may be one of those people who want to reminisce the old times by checking out classic cars. On the other hand, you may be fascinated by looking at the possible designs of the future. Whatever your preference is, you can view your desired vehicles in an auto show or car rally.
An auto show, sometimes called a motor show, is an exhibition of certain types of cars. Most shows are public, although some do require a small entrance fee. Auto shows may feature current automobile models, debut vehicles that recently entered the automotive market, out-of-production but restored classics, or concept cars. The most popular auto shows are typically done once or twice a year.
Auto shows are considered to be vital public relations events in the automobile industry. Car manufacturers, dealers, and even car accessory firms take advantage of car shows to advertise their products. After all, advertising is more effective when their customers actually see the product. To draw people's attention, advertisers usually resort to creative gimmicks such as hiring shapely female models to pose beside their products and acting as eye candy.
There are also more frequent auto shows that are held weekly. These are usually smaller in scale and are held in smaller communities and towns. They are sometimes called "car rallies" although there is hardly a road rally race involved. Unlike regular auto shows, these themed events do not aim to commercialise or advertise vehicles. Instead, they are organised to proudly show off privately owned machines to fellow enthusiasts. Vehicles involved in car rallies are classic automobiles, hot rods, or modified specimens. Car rallies are usually festive and may involve picnics, contests, and other events.
